More than likely it’s a golf cart battery problem
You may have a golf cart battery problem. However, you should first test your charger on another golf cart to determine whether you have a charger problem.
Alternatively, test another cart’s charger on your cart.
You’ll need a Digital Voltage Tester to test each individual battery to find out for certain whether your batteries are the problem..
However, completely charge your golf cart first before testing.
While the charger is running, test your volts every 15 minutes.
Whenever you see the same voltage back to back, that’s how high your batteries’ voltage will go and will give you an idea how good your batteries are.
If you have a 36 volt system with 6 volt batteries, you’ll want to see readings of approximately 6.2 to 6.3 volts per battery (37.2 to 37.8 total volts).
If you are showing, for example, a 4 volt charge on a 6 volt battery, you have a bad battery and you should replace it.
Remember, one bad battery can bring the performance of your entire set of batteries down and a golf cart battery problem..

If you have a 48 volt system with 8 volt batteries, you’ll want to see readings of around 8.2 to 8.3 volts per battery (49.2 to 49.8 total volts).
So, if you are showing something like a 6 volt charge on an 8 volt battery, you have a bad battery and will want to replace it.
How to Test Your Golf Cart Battery Charger
Like any electric vehicle, the battery is often the root of the problem. If you go to start your golf cart and nothing happens, this is the first place to check.
A voltmeter will determine if your battery is depleted (and by how much). Some cart models use a small amount of electricity even when not in use. If the cart goes without charge for a long time, the battery may lack the minimum voltage required to restart.
